Benefits

The Sydney Scholars Award is valued at $6,000 and is tenable for one year of an undergraduate degree.

Who's eligible

You must:

• be a domestic student or an onshore international student who is due to complete or recently completed an Australian Year 12 qualification such as the HSC or an equivalent qualification such as the International Baccaulaureate
• be applying for admission through UAC
• have achieved an ATAR of 95 to 99.85 or equivalent
• apply in the year that you complete your secondary education (if you are offered a Sydney Scholars Award, you may defer it for up to two years).

Note: Domestic students with excellent academic ability experiencing financial hardship or other disadvantages may also choose to apply for the Sydney Scholars Awards on equity and hardship grounds.

How to complete your Equity Scholarship application

1. Read the categories of educational challenges, which define eligibility for each circumstance and the documentation you must provide to support your application.
2. Complete all sections covering the circumstances you are claiming.
3. Accept the declaration.
4. Submit your application and download your confirmation of application and document package.
5. Upload documents to your application at least 10 working days before the offer round date in which you hope to receive an offer. No hardcopy documents will be accepted.

You can only submit one scholarship application during each 12-month admissions period. Your application remains 'live' throughout this period and you’ll be considered for all available Equity Scholarships for which you’re eligible.

Supporting documentation required In your application you will be asked to indicate when you expect to receive a Centrelink (or other Commonwealth) means-tested income support payment.

No documentation is required to support eligibility for the expectation of receipt of a means-tested payment when you apply.

However, after enrolment and prior to payment of a scholarship, you must provide your institution with evidence that you have received a support payment. Alternatively,
